Instant Transaction History

New user - so forgive me for asking a question that is probably answered elsewhere. I am currently out of town and have a staff member using the POS system. I want to see todays transactions to see how he is doing. Should I be able to see all transactions instantly? Or do I have to wait until he logs out the drawer at the end of the day? Thank you.

It will probably take a few minutes for the new transactions to be available, but you should be able to see them within 5 minutes or less after the transaction has been finalized (payment taken and receipt generated if applicable).

That's what I thought. Thank you for the fast reply. If nothing is showing up (and he says he's done $90 in sales over the past 3 hours) can I assume something is wrong and need to contact Square support?

The first thing would be to be absolutely sure that you're both logged into the same account (same email address at logon.)  If that's correct, then there is some disconnect somewhere and you will probably need to contact Square's support.  The problem is that there's no phone support over the weekend, and of course this is a holiday weekend.  Hopefully one of Square's moderators will see this and reach out to you with suggestion/s on what you can do in the meantime.

Thanks for the assist here too @GlassJudy.

 

Have you checked the Transactions tab on the app to make sure the charges were all rang under card sales and not Cash/Other tender? 

 

That's something we see often when an employee says they've been making sales but they aren't showing up for instant deposit.

 

Cash/Other tender sales are for reporting purposes only since we just process cards so if they were rung that way, the cards would need to be charged again and make sure they're ran as card and they don't select Cash/Other tender on the Checkout screen.

Thanks @ashc . This appears to be resolved now. I believe the device had difficulty connecting to the internet and therefore could not update the transactions. They are appearing now. Thanks!
