Instagram connection to shop

I’m new here and in the process of setting up my shop with Square/Weebly.I’m an artist silversmith and have used the Square app at events to accept CC payments.

I would like to include IG posts and links to shop but do not and will not have a Facebook account. Why do I need FB to include IG.Is there anyway around this.Am I wasting my time with this and should go back to Etsy. Not everyone has FB and do not have a “social”need or time for it.I’m busy enough without it.

Thank you for looking at my question.

Welcome @flyinghorse! Sorry you're having problems with the integration. Is it the Facebook Pixel part that's giving you some trouble? If you're able to, can you grab a screenshot or a video of where you're being taken to when you're trying to link your IG?

I'll keep an eye out.

Hi Nika,Thank you for responding. While setting up my site I  went to the IG section of the Weebly template.Instructions said first create a business profile and then connect through FB to one of your pages. That’s where I stopped and started looking for more info.I know most people have FB but some of us don’t for various reasons.I don’t even know if an IG business profile has monthly fees.I can go to IG tomorrow morning and start with that first. There is an approval process and will wait for that before trying to connect.I will check back with you soon.

Hi Nika,I have upgraded my IG account and went in to connect to my Squaresite. Here is the page that guides you through from online menu- website- Instagram

If I cannot find away around Facebook I will not be able to publish.

I have searched and Friday sent an email to Square. Thanks for looking, Tara

@flyinghorse Thanks for the screenshot! I wanted to confirm with our Square Online team and it's true that you do need to have a Facebook business account in order to also connect your site to Instagram.

Sorry if this is inconvenient. Hopefully you can just create and forget your Facebook business page and just have it for the sake of connecting the two. Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi Nika,After visiting FB and seeing what a hassle and time energy suck I have decided not to bother with FB and to just let my followers on IG know what there options will be to visit my sites.

I hope eventually there is a way around this mess in the future.

As an artist my time is better spent creating then spending endless hours on FB.Having discussion with others within my

similar situation also agree about FB. Again thanks for your helpTara

Greatly appreciate the feedback @flyinghorse. I'm sorry it was a pain. Hopefully there is an easier way somewhere down the line.
