I want to apply discounts to only drinks not food (only certain categories)

Hi, 

I want to be able to do student, teacher, police, fire discounts etc. but only for drinks not food. I don't want to have to have staff press every item in the checkout to apply the discount every time. Is there a way to have discounts only affect certain categories during checkout? Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. Welcome back. 

You have the option to create automatic discounts for specific items, categories, quantities, daily specials like happy hours, or limited time offers.

You can create four types of automatic discounts:

• Item or Category:
• Quantity
• Recurring
• Limited Time

Automatic discounts can be used in combination. For example: You can create a _ minimum quantity discount_ on a recurring basis or for a limited time by setting up the discount Schedule or Date Range.
