I ordered a chip reader many months ago when first offered-will the old chip reader take apple pay?

Will the original chip readers offered many months ago accept apple pay?

Our magstripe and chip reader doesn't have the ability to process Apple Pay but the contactless and chip reader can! 

(If your reader plugs in to the headphone jack, you won't have the ability to take Apple Pay but if you reader can connect via bluetooth, you can!)
