I need to add an automatic discount to a specific product once a minimum number is reached.

For example, $6 each or 3 for $15, I would like the automatic price drop once 3 of a certain item is placed in the cart at the point of sale.

this should help.  it works great.

you would add the rule of quantity discount of 3 and the discount per item that it takes to get you to the desired 3 for pricing.
