I entered an email to send the receipt to but it went to another email entirely. Why?

While using virtual terminal, i put a charge in and manually input the email address to send the receipt to.  I then got a call from someone else saying they received the receipt to their email which is completely different than the email I entered and has nothing to do with the user of the card. Why did this happen?

This usually happens when a typo or transposing of numbers happens while entering the address.  the most common that I have seen is a .net is the address but out of habit .com is entered.  a simple 1 letter mixup or skip can cause either a failed send or the wrong person getting it.
