How to set up a one per customer discount?

I am wanting to set up a discount for new clients.

It looks like when I set up the discount, I either get the option of unlimited number of discounts or a set number of discounts such as 20 or 1,000 or anything.

Problem is, a customer could use the discount code 2 seperate times.

Is there any way to set up to where each email can only use the discount code 1 time?

Or should I just keep a very close eye on who has used the code and who hasn't?

Are you trying to send coupons using Square Marketing? Or are you trying to create promo codes for an Online Store? 

I'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Yes, I am trying to use square marketing.

Hey @apaulingproduct, So each customer will receive a unique code that will allow them to redeem the coupon only once. When you're customizing your coupon you will see an example code of 123 456 displayed on the coupon. This will change once you send out the campaign.

Hi there -- I'm also trying to set up a one-time code, but it looks like that only works for in-store purchases? Can this be set up for online use? (I'm using Square Marketing)

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. As for Online Store coupons/discounts, you can create single-use coupons. You can learn more about that here.

For in-store discounts, there isn't a way to create a single use coupon as it would only be able to be applied to one sale. Sorry about that! It's a feature request we're working on making available in the future. We'll make sure to update this thread when we hear something.

Hey Rita! 

Unfortunately, Square Marketing coupons are not redeemable within Online Store at this time. You can check out this thread for more information on how to create a promo code for your Online Store, but there currently isn't a way to restrict the amount of times it can be used.
