We sell a service which is only delivered in-house, so must charge (and pay) sales tax based on our own location.
However, if anyone has an out-of-province credit card, they are automatically charged sales tax of their own home province. We need to prevent that from happening.
I know we can edit Canadian sales tax in the dashboard, but it seems we cannot delete a province. How to avoid clients getting charged their own sales taxes? Do we set every province's sales tax to be the same as our own? Or is there a better way, as that one seems complicated and possibly not legal?
Are these Sales Taxes applied via Square Online or via Square Point of Sale @studiotango?
Someone paid for a class online via a payment link and as their credit card is associated with an old address in another city, they were charged the taxes for that province. However, they live in our city and attended the class at our place of business.
I recommend reaching out to our Square Online Team at 855-809-9000 (English) 855-700-2000 (French) between 6 am - 6 pm Pacific Time Monday-Friday. They will be able to identify what cause this and point you in the right direction.
If you call outside of these hours, you will be required to enter your Customer Code to validate your account.
