How to set email button to open SMS on mobile phone?

When setting up an email campaign, we want to link the button to SMS:(phone number); however, it does not appear to be working. Does anyone have a workaround?

At this time adding HTML formatting to Square Marketing Campaigns is not available and is considered a feature request. I will make sure to pass this one over to our product team.

In the meantime, most devices should recognize the phone number when tapped in the email and should prompt the user to call or send a message natively. I hope this information is helpful!
