How to pay employees a set amount twice a month.

We are paying salary employees on the first and fifteenth of each month.  each check is a set amount. I am having trouble getting this set up in square.  it is wanting to use hours to determine check instead of just using an amount.  right now I am using the other line like I am paying a bonus or something.

Hello and welcome to the Seller Community @djswan1!

If you set the employee's pay type to salary, we'll automatically translate the annual salary into an hourly rate based off the total number of hours worked in a given week. If you choose to pay the employee via a regular pay cycle, the pay will automatically populate and the pay employee the same amount each pay cycle.

If you're using off-cycle payments to process payroll, you'll need to continue to enter the amounts under the "Additional" column because salary pay doesn't currently populate on off-cycle payments.

Hopefully this helps get you on the right track!

I run an automotive glass replacement business where our independent contractors are paid for the services they conduct on a per-diem basis.

We do not see any options in Square | Payroll dropdown menu to select this particular type of pay schedule and I would like to know if Square can edit this ability or if any of you have discovered a workaround.

Please see the attached photo to lay eyes on the dropdown menu aforementioned.

Hey @EAG

To pay your contractors per-diem, you can just select hourly and set the rate to $0. When you go to run payroll (“Pay Contractors”) on overview page, enter the flat amount directly into the table (you aren't required to enter hours or anything).

I hope this helps!
