Instagram has just launched a "gift card" button and link on profile page to sell e-gift cards. Several other stores like mine are selling already, but I can't seem to find a link ANYWHERE on Square to set up, nor on Instagram's "action button" (there is no Square link). I'm selling product through my catalog on Instagram through my Weebly/Square online store- any hints???
You don't see these options?
To set up gift cards for your business on Instagram:
Hi @brigidko! From the Gift Card page of your Online Dashboard, click Configure. On that page, you'll see a toggle next to Sell eGift Cards Online. Make sure that is enabled (blue). You can copy the link that shows there and link it to the IG side!
Perfect! Found it! Thank you
There is no gift cards action button on my profile
@Rachelleocanada Hmmm, You may want to try and reach out to Instagram Support so they can look at your account.
I don't have these options either and I DO have a business account. Gift cards are enabled and available on my website for years.
These are the only action buttons available in the section you designate here:
Order food
Book now
Reserve
Add lead form.
Hello @Violet74 and welcome to the Seller Community
It seems that this is something that Instagram might have changed on their end. I recommend reaching out to Meta Business Help Center so they can look into this for you.
I don't see 'Gift Cards' action button in my IG Edit Profile selection, only Order food, Book now, Reserve. Please and thank you for your help
Hey @DJ661 👋
We're sorry to hear trouble has brought you to the Seller Community!
According to Instagram's help guide you should be able to add gift cards via these steps. I'd recommend reaching out to Instagram Support if you're still unable to add this link to your profile. Unfortunately, we're not able to troubleshoot Instagram profiles via this forum.
Hello everyone,
I wonder if somebody knows how to find the right Squareup link to add to IG to enable gift cards?
The one given for sharing online IG won't take it, too long:(
thanks
Hey @mimosaj!
The link to share via Instagram can be found on the Configure page of your Online Dashboard. When you toggle ON Sell eGift Cards Online, a link will show there and that's the one you'll share on your IG.
If you need some help actually linking the two, I moved your post here so you can check out @isabelle's Best Answer.
Hope this helps you out!
I, too, have found the square e gift card link but it is too long for Instagram. (IG allows only a limited number of characters, apparently.) I even tried entering the URL without the https://. I created a tinyuurl for it, but then it isn't recognized as a square product. This is very frustrating. Any advice?
When I try to link the URL from my square site to Instagram for gift cards it says it's too long. Any suggestions?
Hey @JenniferM73,
Maybe try using a site like Bitly that shortens the URL/link for you? See if that works.
My clients are having trouble With accessing the gift cards is. Is there a direct link to the gift card section to post on Instagram?
@Trxstar This thread should help you out! But let us know if you have other questions.
I also have a business account and my gift cards are set up in Square. Yet somehow, I only have the option to add "Order Food", "Book Now", and "Reserve" options. I'm a gift shop. None of these options will work for me obviously. It would be really helpful to have the "Gift Card" option available. Has anyone figured out what's wrong with some accounts?
Hello @MLDG- Take a look at this thread where @isabelle proves additional troubleshooting steps. Hopefully this helps!
not helpful. still not showing up as an option.
I am having the exact same problem for my business ! It worked great last year and suddenly the gift card option has disappeared. Have you found the solution to this by chance ?
No I haven’t and it’s infuriating!
sorry can’t help 😞
Thank you for replying !! I hear you - I’m infuriated too! I was wondering why customers weren’t buying e cards anymore ... then I discovered this🤯 The gift card button disappeared at some point .. who knows when ..
