How to handle expired stock

I had to remove stock from the shelves due to them reaching their expiration date. How do I handle removing these items from my inventory?

Hey @ReddK - you have a few options.  You can simply delete these items from you Library of items.  Or you can update the Stock quantity.  So if, 5 of 10 expired, you can update the stock to just 5 (the 5 good ones left).  You could also make the items "Unavailable" so they don't show up on the front end.  Depends on which option works best for you.

hmmm.... how does that keep a trace of the damaged good for write-off purposes? Or am I unable to track that in this system?

There should be an option under Stock that says "Damaged" - I would recommend using that.

You can track the damaged goods using Square's inventory management.  There's a really good article explaining where you can find this and how to narrow down to those Damaged items here:  https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6061-view-stock-adjustment-history-with-square-for-retail

@ReddK here's where I'm seeing that "Damaged" option:
