How to enter phone order with custom fields via Square terminal or Square Online?

Hey everyone!

We are floral studio and the majority of our customer like to place their order over the phone. And Square is not ready to process such type transactions at all. If you are reading this and run into the same issue – message what roundabout did you use to hack the system.

As we found while using Square, it does not have any sort of customized fieled for processing and placing orders via Online terminal or the hardware terminal. So when you try to enter customer's information that you collected beforehand like delivery address, recipient name, phone number, internal note etc via Take the payment feature of the Online Terminal or using the Hardware terminal — THERE IS NO PLACE to enter these info and NO WAY to calculate the delivery coast by entering the address (we have to manually calculate in Google maps and use Item "Delivery" to make sure we charged the proper amount for the delivery).

Why there is no custom fields for internal usage? We have to process our orders via shop as our customers would do. I understand that placing an order over the phone might look outdated but our clientele like talking and discussing the order with the designer and we need to give this option.

The confusing part of this all even if we process the order via Take a payment - such order registered as a Transaction and does not show up in Orders section where it should be by logic. So we miss time when we need to prep the order, not again mentioning that we have to get the deliver address from the "Add a note" section of the Transaction, which not visual at all compared to the Orders from the website.

Question: do you guys use any external App for processing phone orders? Is there any Square App integration? Has anyone built an app with developer to integrate with Square? Or you found some roundabout?

This is a huge dealbreaker for our business no matter how much we do enjoy using Square and can appreciate it's flexibility in certain cases.

Best,

Nancy
