I AM SO UPSET ABOUT THIS!!
I have TWO legal name change documents. I am an Australian citizen and have legally changed my surname in Australia
(process required when marriage was overseas)
AND
I got divorced in the US and have the judges order to restore me to my maiden name!
Just ONE of these documents is sufficient for Social Security, DMV, ALL of my bank accounts and credit cards (I have about 12)
and Paypal
BUT NOT SQUARE??
My ex husband was a violent evil person and I don't want to ever have to say his name again.. but Square are forcing me to create a new account and that is total bollocks
THIS NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED TO A MANAGER AND YOUR I.T DEPARTMENT
IT IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RESOLUTION AND MAKES ME WANT TO MOVE OVER TO A COMPETITOR
Hi @Skysimone1 - So sorry to hear about this. I've moved your post here since your question is account specific and so we can get you some help right away.
I've escalated your case to one of our team who will be reaching out to help you with your account. Please keep an eye on your email and let me know if there's anything else we can do for you.
Agreed. I am having the same issue.
Hello @KaylanM and welcome to the Seller Community
Can you confirm where exactly you are looking to make this change?
This, 100 percent. It is absolutely ridiculous that when a female business owner legally changes her name she can not change her name in Square unless she "transfers ownership of the business." Truly unacceptable. I have changed my name with every single vendor that I do business with - why can't Square figure out how to do this?
