How do I upgrade my Square

My phone tells me to update Square and takes me to a Google Login. I hate Google and avoid it whenever possible. Why can't I update through my Square account?

What is this "please use 2 more characters" junk?

Hi there! It sounds like your Google Play Store account is prompting you to sign in. 

The Google Play Store is the app marketplace for all Android devices. 

Unfortunately, in order to download the Square Register app and any updates, you'll need to be logged in to your Google Play Store account.
