How do I set up the account so the 1099 will be sent to the Town (we're a public library)?
I'm setting up a square account for the public library. The funds the library collects should be attached to the town's EIN number, but Square required me to put in my own social. How can I fix this? Thank you!
I can shed some light on this topic. With Square Point of Sale the SSN requirement is to attach you to the account. If you enter the town's EIN number, we file a 1099-K under the EIN. You can read more about it in our Support Center article 1099-K Tax Reporting Information.
