I received feedback that I wrongly entered in a credit card number. Someone other than intended buyer was charged. How can I see the number I entered?
On the feedback page on your dashboard, you can look at the whole transaction. Scroll up a little bit and click "Show Transaction Details." The last four digits of the card are shown near the bottom of the transaction.
We don't get access to the entire card number for security and liability concerns. But, you can use those last four digits to search other transactions on the Transactions section of the dashboard. You may be able to tell there if it's the same person or not by looking at the name on the card for other transactions.
Worst case scenario: you refund the transaction then immediately ring it in again with the correct card info. If the person gets charged again, you know they were trying to scam you. Otherwise they see their money returned and the correct person gets charged.
Hey @Jekndi, Helen here from teh Community team!
This sounds odd. I wonder if the person who contacted you received someone else's receipt by mistake and thought they had been charged. If someone enters their phone number or email address with a typo, the receipt could have been delivered to the wrong person. (They can fix this by clicking 'Not Your Receipt' at the end of the receipt.)
Also, when you manually enter a customer's card information to the app you *must* enter the long card number correctly. If you don't, the numbers will turn red and screen in the app will 'shake'' to indicate that there's a typo in the long number. You won't be able to complete the payment until it's corrected.
I hope this helps clarify. If needed you could call our CS team and they can go over your recent transcations and see what might have happened.
