Hey @Jfields1 - I'm not quite clear on what you mean by pairing your iPhone to the app. No pairing is necessary to download the app. You would just need to go to the App Store and search Square Point of Sale. If you are looking to pair a Contactless + Chip Reader to your iPhone, you can find the steps for that within our Support Center.
