How do I know if a client sent me a text

For the new option of sending customers text messages,  how do I know when they replied? Is there a notification setting, so I don't miss messages?

Hello and welcome @Denisem! Great question. 

 

When your customers send you a text message, you'll see an alert through your Square Dashboard. It will look like this:

 

 

When you click that notification you'll see any new and existing text messages from your clients and you'll be able to reply there if you want.

My client says she left message & cancelled 1 day ago. But I Don't see the message & was still showing on the schedule??

Hey @sstevens1004

 

As mentioned by @nika, if you head over to your Square Online Dashboard to look at your text messages located on the top right corner, you should be able to click and see the list of all of the messages that have come through.

How do I opt out of the Square text messages?  I have disabled the Square Assistant every possible place its offered and I'm still getting messages from clients.  I have my clients contact me through my phone text message app.  However, new clients aren't aware of this and send text messages through Square.  I use my phone to communicate with my clients, and Square doesn't have notification for their text messages through Square mobile. You have to just go in and check it.  That doesn't work for me.  I lost a client because she wasn't getting a response from me through Square Text Messages.  You also don't provide the option to edit the text message they receive when they are scheduled for an appointment or their appointment reminder text.  I would love to add "please do not respond to this message" on all text messages sent by Square.

Hey there @Cathryn7 

 

I believe the best approach here would be to enable Do Not Disturb on your messages so your prospective customers get a message to contact your directly whenever they reply to one of our automated messages. 

 

 

This should help avoid the situation you mentioned where you missed communication from a customer when they replied to one of our messages.

 

Now, in regards to editing text messages, I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers with similar interest in your request. 

 

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).
