Solution

Hi there @axishinedetail - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community with your question.

At this time, the availability for Square Installments is still on pause.

If and when they are reinstated, we will be sure to make an announcement in The Community. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Hey @theartfulstudio,

Square Installments are paused at this time due to the pandemic but you can learn more about how you can offer them here from our Support Center

I'm trying to register for Square Installments to offer installment plans for my customers but it keep getting an error message stating something is wrong on our end, I've been getting this message for a few weeks now.

Hey @Mr3rdGear,

I moved your post to an existing thread where I addressed this with another seller asking about how to get set up.

Check out my answer above.

Are they still paused? And if so are there any apps out there like Sezzle or Afterpay that will integrate wtih Square?

I am interested in offering Square Installments for my business. Has this been reinstituted for the community?

Will the Square installments EVER be reconsidered, it's been almost 2 years since they ceased it and I have several customers who used and liked it asking for larger purchases..  They keep asking me to use paypal so they can use paypal credit since I no longer offer Square installments for large purchases... it is hurting small businesses.  Businesses are back open, so I can't understand the delay in offering it again???  Afterpay is okay, but not for long term installments and I offered it to them today and they said , "that's not really installments" and the 2 sales fell through.. PLEASE mention it to whoever oversees the reinstatement of Installments... thanks

So can I offer PayPal credit to my customers?

While you can accept payments with PayPal, Square doesn't currently support PayPal Credit, @YedsSupporters.

We do, however, offer Afterpay which works well as an installment plan option.

I would love to start offering a payment option plan for my customers and clients, especially with the sales of high ticket items. Please bring back Square Installments or implement another third party financing program! Thank you!

Hey @CodyRobertsArt,

Thanks for writing in! Have you checked out Afterpay yet? This allows your customers to check out in your online store. Let us know if this could be a suitable workaround for you!

You can also still split an invoice into several payments. Learn more here

PS. I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋

Thanks Arie,

Yes I have included Afterpay on my online store, however there is a $2,000 limit. So any artworks I have listed above this limit don't have a financing option. Splitting an invoice into several payments is helpful, thank you.

Does Square intend to implement another financing option in the future?

While we can't speak on what might be available in the future, I wouldn't be surprised if different financing options became available in the future, @CodyRobertsArt

I'm in the same boat as @CodyRobertsArt. My items are more expensive than the $2,000 afterpay option.  Plus afterpay isn't monthly, its biweekly.  Please keep us posted!  a monthly service will REALLY help our small businesses!
