How do I get a customers name to show on the transaction csv, when using the card on file function?

I use virtual terminal to process all our company's payments through out the day and I've been having to always put the customer name in the "Notes" section. However; when we export the transactions to be able to do our deposits in our accounting system I've noticed a header for customer name. 

 

We use the card on file function that is now available in virtual terminal so we are selecting the Customer already. I can't seem to figure out or understand why if we are already selecting the customer why their name is not showing on the report. I've tested it and if I don't use the card on file function and manually enter in the credit card info, process the payment and then go back into the transaction and associate the customer to that transaction it shows on the csv. Why wouldn't it show on the report if we are already selecting the customer name when using card on file. 

 

I hope someone has figured some work around out. The card on file really saves me time but I would love to shave even more time off our processing routine.

Customer Name will only show up when you use the App and add the customer from Customer management to the sale.  I would recommend you try Invoices.  You can create and send out an invoice for them to pay.  This will provide better tracking for you.

The reports from my transactions through the terminal have missing customer names. About half have the name populated, I am assuming because they have used Square previously.  

Is there a way to add the customer name on the terminal  at point of sale? How do we find out which ones the names are present already and which ones need to be added?
