How do I find invoices per customer? Like customer history?

The only way I have found to do this is to go to the invoice page and use the search feature. You can adjust the calendar to change the timeline for viewing results. I wish this was in the customer portal.

@pavvento - Thanks for the suggestion! I was thinking the same thing. 

 

@OE - We don't currently integrate Invoice transactions into our Customer Directory sales history, but I can definitely see the value in this feature. 

 

I'll pass along your feedback to our product liasison team.

@Sean Is this on the radar yet to be added? I love using Square but this is a sorely missed feature that seems like it would be an original feature of the system. This really hurts me not having this and the other way to search and change timeframes, etc. is a time waster and feels completely unnessecary.

While our Customer Directory is getting a make-over, there aren't any plans to list transaction types or outstanding invoices within the Customer Directory section of the Square Dashboard at this time. I can definitely see how maybe a Smart Group in the Customer Directory that pulls over any customers with Unpaid or Overdue invoices would make things easier. Was this maybe what you were looking for? 

 

What was it about the Invoice section that didn't work for you? Currently, you're able to filter your invoices by specific criteria such as "Unpaid" or "Overdue", as well as search for specific customers within those criteria. 

 

Our Product Team would love to hear your specific use case.

I appreciate your response!

Basically, I just want to be able to pull up a customer and see their transaction history. What has this customer bought from me? What service did they subscribe too and when did the last transaction with them take place? This knowledge can help in many ways when it comes to marketing or upselling or even just checking in with them when a subscription is about to expire.

I just think it seems obvious that I could click on a customer and see what transactions with that particular customer has taken place.

But don't get me wrong - I am totally satisfied with everything you guys offer and this service has made the way I run my business more effective and less time consuming. But I'm also a designer and programmer and it seems odd that the fields or relational database between the customer and their transactions history isn't somehow available. I thought maybe I was just missing something.

@TheWikkedOne While you're not able to view invoices as requested in the original post of the thread, you can absolutely view your customers activity within the Customer Directory and their Customer Profiles. 

 

The Customer Profiles, so long as the customer is added to the transaction, allows you view activity like recent transactions, Square Loyalty rewards earned and feedback left, and also save payment card information for future payments using Card on File
