How do I cancel a transaction and start over? I find that Square won't let me do this.
Touch or click on the "Current Sale" right above the charge amount. Then touch or click "Cusont Amount", and then "Remove Item".
click the arrow in the top right corner. select clear items.

I put in the wrong amounts (before sale is completer) but I can't delete them
How do I start over. Noone has been charged yet.
If the above answer isn't helpful, you can also select the item. The item detail screen opens. scroll to the bottom of that screen and select "remove item."
🙂

I am using an Android and have the same problem. I can't find an arrow or "Virtual Terminal" or anything else.... thanks

Thank you!!! This worked!!
How do I remove an item prior to checkout if it was added by mistake
Thanks for posting @OneWildHoney
To remove an item from the sale, tap Current Sale above the charge amount in the blue box. Swipe left on the item and tap the red Delete button.
I need to cancel a attempted transaction. How do I cancel it?
Hey @joanec!
You can refund the transaction:
Visit Sales > Transactions in your online Square Dashboard.
Select the payment you’d like to refund > Issue Refund.
Enter the amount you want to refund and the reason for the refund.
Click Refund.
Would that work? Is it already processed?
a gift card transaction was completed and now to complete a refund it is asking for a gift card to put the value back but there is no money received from the system.
Hello there @IndyCBDPlus
If a transaction was settled using a gift card then the money can only go back to a gift card. If you wish to refund a gift card back to the original payment method then you would need to find the transaction in which the Gift Card was loaded/created and refund that particular transaction.
