How do I apply dining options when creating an invoice?

We really like the invoicing feature on the web interface, but sometimes a customer's purchase of a normally taxable item is exempt from sales tax. I'd like to use the "Dining Options" feature when creating invoices to manage when sales taxes apply to orders.

Has anyone found how Square can handle this?

We don't currently offer the option to apply Dining Options to Invoices, but I can see how that would be useful in your example.

However, you are able to edit which taxes apply by item in your Invoice. In order to add or disable an existing tax you've created, click the gray arrow to the left of the item. This will display your taxes and let you uncheck them if they do not apply! Hope that helps.

I know this question was asked forever ago, but I found that create a sale on the tablet, then when you tap charge, you have the option to send an invoice there. This allows you to put the dining option on the sale and still send an invoice. Hopefully you've already figured this out.
