How do I apply a discount to only certain item quantities and not the whole purchase?

I am running a deal for my store where items purchased in quantities of two are discounted. For example 2 for $20, 4 for $40, etc. I was able to set up a discount code that takes off the correct percentage, however, the code still applies to odd number quantities. So rather than it being 3 items at $32, it's 3 items at $30. Does anyone know if there's a way to make a discount applicable to certain quantity restrictions [ie. even quantities only]?

Happy to look into this. Quick question, do you run your sales from an online store, in person through one of our point of sale systems, or both?
