Hey @NCAR-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community!

You can see a customer’s name on the bottom-left corner of a payment receipt if this information is made available to Square from their bank/card-issuer. Receipts can be found in the Transactions tab of your online Square Dashboard.

Moving forward, you can learn about adding customers to your Customer Directory during a sale in this article

100% of our transactions do not have customer name. You should be able to pull this information from credit card and/or bank and not have us create our own customer list.

We have another supplier that provides the same service and do not have this problem.  Out of 30 transactions, we automatically obtained customer name for 28 of them.

Out of our latest 18 transactions thru your service, we obtained 0

Any ideas?

Hey @Calacata,

Customer information is privileged to their bank for security purposes hence why you have to add the name in the directory yourself.

We don't even get full customer information on our side as the processor because we're not privileged to it like the bank is.

You will need to manually add each customer in either at the time of sale or after if you want names to be attached to the sale.
