How can I process a drink which is included in a Breakfast?

Is there an answer here?

Like many I am sure we sell a Breakfast which includes a drink.

How do I process a free drink using items we have already setup? Initially I setup an additional Menu Display Group for Drinks (Included) which works fine when managed by staff. However looking to move to Self-ordering I need to find a way that the customer can only add a specific drink item when purchasing a breakfast - I looked at using modifiers but then I have the issue of all the additional modifiers for specific drinks/printing to the barista rather than the kitchen.

Any ideas?

If like us, you have separate items for Breakfast and Drinks - and don't really want to duplicate by adding modifiers, you can set up discounts to do the same job.

For instance, let's say you offer a breakfast with a free drink before s certain time, you can add a discount associated with the Breakfast Item, and combine it with any of your pre-existing drinks - making the drink item the free item associated with the Breakfast.

I know this is not a step-by-step method, but it's worthwhile having a play around with the different types of discounts to achieve what you want. We do the same and it works really well, although we do have to duplicate the discounts several times to cover the different price points we have.

Let me know if you need any help with this.

Hi @jimtaylor87, welcome to the Seller Community!

You can create a modifier set. When you create an item from your Online Store Dashboard, you will have an option to add a modifier set and you can list all the free drinks with the price set to £0. This way, your customer can choose a drink when they add the item to the cart. Here is a screenshot for you.
