Help needed printing a receipt

Background info: I use Square maybe 6 times per year. Mostly I email an invoice, and my customer pays that way. Maybe 1 of those times is at my office with the customer in person.

Short Question: Do I HAVE to have a special Bluetooth printer to print a Square receipt?

Detailed Question: Let's say I take payment at my shop with my reader through the Square App on my tablet. I can email a receipt, but I can't find a way to print a receipt from the tablet to the office printer. I can't see a way to print that particular receipt from my Square account on my Windows desktop, either.

I've just been creating a receipt with MS Word, and that's worked so far, but it's not quite world class. I'm not buying a special printer to use maybe once a year either.

Does anybody here have a work-around that'll allow me to print on a non-Bluetooth printer?

Thanks!

Chris

Welcome to the Community, @chrisinestes, thanks for posting.

To your first question; the answer is yes, you do need a compatible receipt printer (not necessarily Bluetooth) in order to print receipts directly from the Register app.

Having said that, you can also view an exact copy of the receipt from your online Dashboard, so that may give you some printing options. To do so, sign in and head to your Transactions page. Select your date range and click on an individual transaction, there you'll see a link to the receipt on the right-hand side.

This will take you to a direct link to the receipt (also shareable with your customers), however the page isn't optimized to be printed, honestly. If you'd like to print it as it appears, I'd recommend taking a screenshot and printing that.

Couple extra steps there, but hopefully this workaround helps since you don't have to do this often!

Thanks Spenser, I figured I may be stuck with printing a screen shot.
