Heckler @Rest Universal Stand and Bar Code Scanners

I purchased the Heckler @Rest Universal Stand because we had recently bought the newest iPad Pro (12.9 inch). We could not use the Square Stand with this size and model of the iPad. I also have the reader and dock for contactless and chip cards which we had purchased awhile ago. I'm looking at purchasing a bar code scanner and found the page listing recommended scanners and what setups they would work with (stand, register, terminal, etc). This may be a stupid question but I wanted to make sure I purchased the right scanner. Since I had to purchase the universal stand, would my setup be considered the Square Stand or iOS with Square reader? Thanks!

 Pretty sure iOS with square reader.  The square stand integrates the swipe and usb hub/charging into the convenient swivel we are all used to.  The stand you got or any stand is perfectly fine as you will be using some type of usb hub to lightning connecter which will charge the iPad and connect it to the reader & dock, scanner.  The only real issue you can run into (I have one iPad without a square stand) is when I have to swipe a card.  It is very rare anymore, but I just unplug the lightning cord, pop in the square swipe doomaflotchie (love that word), swipe the card, and then reconnect.  Takes a couple seconds, but for those transactions you can also do a manual entry, but I try to use card present transactions whenever possible for security.

Thank you for your reply! So it sounds like I would need the hub or something to charge as well? That's something I don't currently have. I actually was thinking of getting some sort of power converter to hook everything up to in order to charge it all. I'll have a fan, and all that too so I needed another power source to plug other items up. But will I need this hub for just charging purposes? We do have a data package on the iPad so we will be able to have internet access. Wanted to be sure I have everything I need. LOL! It looks like the only bar code scanner I can get for this set up is Socket Mobile SocketScan S700 for the iOS Square with Reader option. Shew that's another $229 I have to spend but oh well.  Luckily, the lightning port on ipads can have a usb hub and charge very easily.  Android did not build their port usage the same with usb OTG.  While the ipad set up will be a tad more expensive, it will be best long term.
