Gross Up Sales for Transaction Costs

Hi, we're a nonprofit that will soon begin using square to take payments for coffee, donuts, etc. We'd like to give the customer the option to gross up their payment to cover the transaction costs involved. For example, a coffee costs $1, but we want to give them the option to gross up 3% to $1.03. What's the best way to accomplish this? I see there are modifiers for a flat dollar amount, but nothing with a percentage. Any suggestions?

there isn't an automatic way to do this, and it is illegal in many states to pass the credit card processing on to the customer.  The easiest and best way would be to price it at the amount you want including your fees and other overhead.

If it is legal in your state to pass the fee on to the customer you could have multiple price points with and without the fee added in.
