Expected Cash In Drawer Amount

We have a small BBQ restaurant & we have POS Android set-up. One tablet stays in place to operate cash drawer & take pymnts, & we have 3 tablets that wait staff uses to take orders & pymnts at tables. My default starting cash on main drawer is $0.00, I enter starting cash as a "paid in" amount since that cash varies daily. We utilize paid in & paid out daily. At end of day when drawer is closed, drawer count never matches "expected cash in drawer." On paper, by my calculations, the drawer comes up correctly. Why doesn't the drawer summary reflect the correct amount?

Hi @tsellison

That does sound a bit strange. I went to check on this for you and it looks like you were able to reach out to our Support Team for some help They responded to you as of two days ago, so let us know if you're still running into discrepancies or if you found a solution.

I'm sure a fellow seller is seeing similar things and would love to hear your solution if you received one 👍🏼

I am in a similar situation.  Our cash drawer starting and closing amounts vary.  We want to come in everyday and open the cash drawer and enter the amount as our starting cash and at the end of the day the drawer should match but it does not reflect like that.   If I do pay in and pay out it keeps adding the amount but does  not change the starting amount.  Please help

Hello @TGS, welcome to the Seller Community!

I know why you're having trouble. So Pay in/out's will never change the starting amount for the drawer session. Even though your drawer varies each day when you come in, if you enter this amount into the starting cash amount your discrepancies should go away.

If you still have questions please feel free to reach out to me.

I'm confused enough. Entering a false amount to force the "Drawer Amount" to appear correct, is just compounding the problem. Why not simply allow the Square Admin to enter the actual Drawer Starting Amount when the automated amount doesn't match the REAL amount?

Hey there @bjohnsoncarves this thread is a little old.  Would you mind sharing some context on the situation you are having?
