I am selling online e-cards. How do I make them merge with the customer it is intended for? Please give step by step.

Great question!
The cool thing is that's all done on the Customer Side.
When a customer buys an eGift Card online, the person buying it puts in the email address of the recipient. That starts the process.
The recipient then opens the email, and they get the option to link it to their email and/or phone number.
Once they go through those steps, the card is then either links to an existing customer profile that has that email and/or phone number, or creates a new one if none exist with that information.
