The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Secure link to Weebly site
I have a few customers whose browser settings will not connect to my Weebly site because it is not a secure link. Is an upgrade necessary or is there some way to secure transctions such that these browsers can connect?
Hey @AirPlay-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
The SSL for our newly launched Square Online Store (powered by Weebly) should be automatically enabled when the site is published, meaning it should be a secure link.
What browser are they using? Let me know! ✨
Hi
I am having the same issue even when I try to visit my site. It happens sporadically. It has happened both on my Mac and my iPhone. What can I do?
Welcome to the Seller Community, @mdxdesigns 👋
Can you please post a link to your website so we can take a look?
I am wondering how I can tell that my online store is secure, and if there is a way for me to make it more secure. Thanks!
Hey @Dana6!
Good questions and I understand your concern. Please know that once you publish your Online Store site, an SSL (secure sockets layer) is automatically enabled - which creates a secure connection between your customer's web browser and our servers. No need to do anything extra to make your store secure.
Thank you for your response! Peace....Dana
How do I get my SSL Certificate onto my Square online website?
Did you get your domain through Square or did you have it already (like from another Registrar company, like GoDaddy, etc) and forward it (or update the DNS) to your Square online site?
Hey @MBlichmann!
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
Please take a look in this thread. There should be some helpful posts and thoughts regarding SSL. It also looks like @PreOrder_Apps is here to help as well!
I just created my site and when I try to access it from either Google Chrome or Firefox I get the message "An SSL error has occured and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." Any ideas on this?

We can definitely take a look at this for you! Are you able to send the link to your website so we can investigate?

It is working on PC but not mobile now.
Thanks for following up! @ittechdsmith
Are you able to try to clear your cache on the mobile device? Also, are you typing it in with www. before the URL? That can cause an issue with the SSL as well.
Yes and yes. The most annoying part of all of this is I have been trying to contact Square phone support and all I get is I will call you back in a hour, and they never do or i will transfer you and then after sitting on hold for 30+ minutes I get disconnected. Until today I still haven't actually talk to anybody in the actual department I need. I wanted to see if creating my website here using the free one first, then having it professionally redone would be beneficial since I already use Square for my business, but I am beginning to think it may be better to just use someone else for my website.
Sorry to hear you were having some trouble reaching the team. I checked your site URL and it is loading securely for me. Do you still see an error on your end?
Hello Im fairly new and not at all website builder savy, I my site does not have a lock on it , and I also have purchased one and don't know how to install it , Is there video or how to do section on doing this ? But my site is not secured. Please Help thank you

Square Online and Weebly websites include SSL protection for every website. You do not have to purchase a third party certificate, and in fact, third party SSLs are not compatible with our websites. I definitely recommend trying to get a refund from wherever you made the purchase.
If you have a Square Online site, the SSL is automatically activated as long as your DNS is setup properly. Sometimes it helps to unpublish, then republish the website if you are certain the DNS is correct.
If you have a Weebly website you will see the option to turn on or enable the SSL from the Settings tab within the site editor. DNS must also be setup properly in order for it to work.
Can you post a link to your website so we can take a look? We can let you know if the DNS needs editing? Thanks in advance! 😊
