I have set up a default message on invoices on the computer version of Square but it is not showing up on the mobile version. Why?
@ettalonglaundry YES! From your online Square Dashboard if you enter a custom message to an Invoice, and select Save as Default the same message will appear in any Invoices you send from the app. The same is true if you add a message to the app, you'll see the same message in your Dashboard.

In this screenshot from the POS app the toggle is on so the custom message will appear on every Invoice.
I recommend making sure you are using the latest version of the Point of Sale app. Check the App Store/Google Playstore for an update. Thanks for your post!
It can still be glitchy and I am not sure why.
I have had no issues with the app or the web version keeping my custom text. But I recently made some changes on the web version and (if I'm recalling correctly) they did propagate to the app. But the next time I logged into the app, it was back to the Square default text. I didn't have time to mess with it, so I just typed it in again and now it seems to be working.
Hmm, sorry to hear that @hudson2001. I recommend making sure the POS app is up to date, as well as the software on your device. I also suggest turning off your phone and turning it back on. (I'm definitely guilt of forgetting to turn my phone off, ever, but it really helps!)
So I haven't maded any changes to my default invoice message in either the app or web versin, but I just went to send an invoice via the app and my default message is gone and is back to the generic Square "we appreciate your business." GRRRR!!! Anyone else getting this?

We made a few changes to the Settings section of your Invoices tab, so this might've had an impact on your saved messaging.
However, you can now save your default messaging when you go to create a new invoice. Replace the default "We appreciate your business" with your personalized messaging and the "Save as default" option should come up for you.
Still not working. I redid the default message last night and it worked for about 8 invoices. This morning I went to send another invocie and BAM! Back to the Square Default. This is very frustrating.

Custom messages shouldn't change unless you save the edit intentionally.
