Does Deleting Items Delete The Sales History Associated With Those Items?

We're a nonprofit arts organization and I'd like to know if deleting the ticket sale items from our previous season would also delete the sales/transaction history associated with those items - and I suppose with the customers as well?

What about deleting a variant of an item.  I'm assuming I would still be able to see the sales history of the variant too?

What about deleting an item which is still in an active recurring invoice? Im phasing out of certain products and introducing new products in their place. but i am still allowing clients who are already being invoiced for those products to still recieve them until their recurring agreement ends

That's a great question! I didn't know the answer off the top of my head, so I went ahead and tried it out. So far it's going well, I created a recurring invoice series and deleted the item right afterwards. I paid the first invoice and the reports are accurate. Also tomorrows invoice is queued up with the same item. 

 

I think you'll be okay if you delete your items. I'll give you an update at the beginning of next week to confirm everything went smooth. 🙂

Does deleting the item delete the picture that shows on the activity history? I want to delete items that I no longer have available for sale, but it can be difficult for me to match up what I sold in the past without the pictures, and that becomes problematic when doing my taxes.
