How do you set up 2 different tax rates on the same day with 1 square account? I can’t seem to find an answer - thanks
Hi @Circles,
Welcome to the Seller Community! Are you looking to apply multiple taxes to an item?
I think this thread my help: Entering Multiple Taxes that can be selected. Have a look at Kelly's reply and let me know if that covers what you're needing to do.
Hope this clears things up!
So Tom it seems the only way to actually do this is to input the correct tax amount prior to each sale?
Hey @Circles ! Jumping in for Tom here -
Are you looking to add multiple taxes to the entire sale or are you wanting to assign specific items different tax rates? This will help us angle an answer best suited for your business needs.
Justin - I sell wreaths and lighted glass blocks and I don’t have any specific items listed in my square. I can tell by the price what I sold. This weekend my husband will be in a county that has 8% tax and I’ll be selling in a county that has 7.75% tax. So I wondered if it’s possible to have different taxes in my account as we’ll be selling the same items. Confusing.....
Ah, I see - thanks for the clarification. In that case, you're right in having to edit the tax at the time of sale by removing the tax you don't want to collect.
You might be interested in creating multiple locations under the same account (Location A and Location B) and assigning a tax rate to each location. That way, you and your husband can sign into your respective locations and charge the necessary tax rate while all the money funnels through one account.
I hope this helps!
