Difference between using squareup and square.online? Which one am I suppose to use?

I am online only. Small seller of custom items that have size/color/text options. One rate shipping. Very simple. This new weebly stuff has too many convoluted, unneeded sections to weed through (reminds me of the nightmare I experienced when I used Bigcommerce for a year). I miss the old square.

Hey Creatorofthings,

Seems the names can be a bit confusing - not sure if this answers your questions but, we'll toss some info out there.

Squareup.com is where you go to setup and manage your Square Account including your Square Online Website.

Square Online is what you use to setup your basic website for selling online.   Behind the scenes, your website is hosted and supported by Weebly.   Your basic Square Online site is free and if you're needs are simple (like mine) - it works quite well.  Once you get the hang of how to setup your site, it's easier than you think.  Just takes some tinkering at first as every site host has different setup processes.   If you don't need a domain name or some of the more advanced features, the basic free option is great.  In our case, we already had a website and linked the free Square Online site to it.

If you have specific configuration questions, I'm sure others here can possibly help too.

Thank you for your response. Yes, everything is a bit confusing to me. I can add items from both places, so I wasn't sure which one to use for my online store now.

I already have a website so I just wanted to use square for selling items online. What I need sounds similar to your setup. I will try to work with it some more. Thank you

Just wanted to jump in with some extra resources in the Seller Community, @Creatorofthings!

This thread is full of Square Online website examples, and some direction on adding items can be found here.
