Dashboard Reporting updates, locations changes are now retroactive?

We have multiple locations and if the name of one changed (in the past) Dashboard sales reports would show any/all previous names for each location when "Display By Location" is selected.

There was an update to the Dashboard Reports recently but can not find any info on what was adjusted.

I always thought that any changes made to items, categories and locatins were not retroactive, is that no longer true?

Are there and options to see historical changes or audit trails anywhere?

Hey @FleaMoose! Thanks for the question, and welcome to the Seller Community!

Any changes that you make to your items and/or locations are not retroactive. For example: Let's say you made sales under a location 2 years ago and changed the name of that same location yesterday. If you were to pull a report today, you would see the original name from the transactions done under that location 2 years ago as well as the new name of the location shown from transactions made yesterday. 

Same goes for items. If you had an item that sold once a day from Jan-March named "Flea" and then renamed it after March 1 to "Moose"... Let's say you run a report from Jan to April: You would see sales for both "Flea" and "Moose".

We regrettably don't have a way to provide any type of report that shows all of the changes made to items/locations in the past. Also, we haven't had an notable changes in the Dashboard reporting that would have changed this view. Do you have more information on the update that you're referring to?

Indeed, correction. I only see the previous names of my locations running a sales report both displayed by location and selecting a monthly (or weekly) view..
