Collecting automatic monthly EFT payments

Hey all!

I own a coffee shop and a tanning salon. I'm using Square for both. I'd like to set up options for monthly reoccurring automatic payments for both. 

Let's use the tanning salon for this question.

The customer wants to sign up for an unlimited tanning package that's $39.95/mo. and has a $29.95 upfront fee. 

The "memberships" function in Square seems to be perfect for this. But it also seems to be an online only feature... If someone wants to complete the transaction in person, am I correct that we'd need to close the square app and complete the transaction in a web browser? Is there another way to do this?

I've also seen reoccuring invoices suggested as a work around. Is there a reason I'd want to use it versus the membership process described above?

Also - I'd like to use Square Contract's function. Any idea on the best way to do the contract and the EFT sign up in a face to face sale?

You're correct in that the only two options would be the subscription payment method through our checkout links and recurring invoices.

Recurring invoices will probably be the better choice since checkout links have to be paid for on the link itself. Also keep in mind though that recurring invoices will automatically charge whichever card is on file unless updated otherwise.

I don't know of any tanning salon sellers off the top of my head, but I hope you're able to find some to chat with here in the Community!
