I use the option in Square appointments where clients must leave a credit card in order to create their appointment. They are getting frustrated that they have to get their card back out to pay (these are brand new parents. Their tolerance for hassle is low.) Is there a way to run their card for the appointment without having to collect informatin again?
Hey @ashleybenz, welcome to the Seller Community! This is a great question.
So our Hold Card for No-Show Protection feature is only saved for a single appointment only. This info is not saved on file for future charges. We will pass this feedback along to our product team.
You might be interested in Card on File. This will allow you to store a customers card to their profile in your Customer Directory. This will require the customer to give you their card information one extra time. After this they will no longer have to pull out their card. 😀
We have a great post that gives step by step instructions for setting this up. Feel free to find it on this thread.
Yes, please make it a function that they can choose to prepay OR can save the card for later payment. Thanks!!
I have the no show protection on. They are required to have a card on file when booking an appointment. However, I’ve had many no shows and when I go to charge the card, it is not on file. What the hell? I’m so frustrated. Why do you allow the customer to uncheck the box to save their card info? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?
Thanks for your question, @daintylillashes. Really sorry this is causing you frustrations.
We moved your post to this thread, as Chad's answer best addresses your question, and this is still considered a feature request.
If and when this feature request is built out, we'll be sure to update everyone here in the Community. Appreciate your patience, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have other questions.
