Can you print receipts from your desktop?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Using Square from desktop, printing receipts question]

 

Hello, so i have been using Square for my appointments and i really like its functionality for that.

I use it mainly from a desktop, when i schedule an appointment i place the items and services that they are getting into the appointment and when they come in for me to ring them out, i have no option to print their receipt from the desktop.  i have checked everywhere and everything.  what am i missing?

I also see that there is the option to set up a printer station from a phone or ipad, but no such functionality for the desktop.  I also cant seem to print any reports, or anything else of that nature. 


Lastly, is there a "closeout" feature available?

Thank you for posting in the Seller Community. Welcome.

 

Currently, we only support the ability to print receipts from the mobile version of the app. Since printing varies depending on the computer and printer you have, you do have the option to try printing the receipt from the transaction section.

 

After logging onto your dashboard, please click on the left hand side menu > Transactions > Click on the transaction in questions > Scroll down on the bottom right window that pops up and then click on the receipt# in blue. You can then try printing that receipt image that populates.

Hello Alex, thank you for responding.  I use an Epson printer at work, and nothing i do allows me to print these **bleep** reciepts.  i can print estimates but i cannot print reciepts after people pay. 

I bought an Ipad and tried setting up a printer station but it also wont find the epson wifi printer, and yes i do have them both on the same wifi network.  Am i missing something?  do other people have this same problem?

Thanks for replying back. When you have a moment, please try the following steps to troubleshoot your printer:

 

  • Turn your device’s Wi-Fi off and then on again.
  • Turn your device completely off and then back on.
  • Turn your receipt printer off and unplug all cables. Plug all cables back in and turn the receipt printer on.
  • Make sure the receipt printer is fully plugged in and a roll of paper is in the printer.
  • Make sure that your Ethernet cable is connected to the right piece of hardware. You may need to switch the direction of the cable.
  • Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi router is working and that your device is connected.
  • Ensure that the Ethernet cable connecting the receipt printer to the Wi-Fi router is properly connected to the Ethernet port on each device.

If these steps don't work, please open the receipt settings and confirm that the receipts options is enabled to print within the app.
