Yep, that would be fine! That will allow both Stands to print to one printer, and in turn, kick open the cash drawer when necessary.

Here's a guide on syncing an ethernet printer, if you need it!

Hey Spenser thanks for the response, however, I'm not seeing the information on how to sync a bluetooth printer to two ipads.  Your link brought me to Summaries and Reports from the Online Dashboard.  Can you please send me the correct link?  Or share instructions?  Thanks so much!

I can get one of my ipads at each time to connect to the printer, but I can't get both of them to connect at the same time.  Any advice?

@JT318 - We can get down to the bottom of this. I have a couple questions:

- Exactly what printer model are you using?

- What color are the lights on the printer?

- Are you getting an error message in-app?

- Does the printer appear in the list of available printers?

- Have you double checked that the iPads are both on the same wireless network?

- Have you tried re-setting up your wireless network?

1. I'm using Star TSP650II bluetooth printer.

2. The lights on the printer are Green, Purple or Blue.

-Green when nothing is paired to it

-Purple or blue flashing when pairing

-Blue when paired

3. No error message in app, just says unsuccessful pair when I'm in the Bluetooth settings.  I can pair one separately, but it won't allow me to pair two.

4. Yes same wireless network

@JT318 - Thanks for confirming! So, I just hopped off the phone with StarMicronics, and they let me know that the TSP650II bluetooth printer can only pair to one device at a time.

So it looks like we're dealing with a hardware limitation. You would need to use an ethernet printer connected to a router if you wanted to share a printer between multiple devices.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

Is it possible to use two Square Stands but just one cash drawer? So it manages cash flow of the drawer accross two stands, one bank.

We do not have a printer (we do not want one) so we're just opening the cash drawer manually.

Please advise.
Thanks!

Carly

@CarlooHeartsBee You would need to enable Cash Drawer Management on both of your iPads, and start a Cash Drawer Session for each as well.

This would track and manage your cash sales on each device separately, so when you end the Cash Drawer Sessions, you would need to reconcile the total amount in the Cash Drawer to the two Cash Drawer Sessions manually.

So you are saying that if I have two tablets and they each recieve $XX in cash sales, I then have to break out the calculator to close out my physical cash drawer?

@ZionGuru, if you were storing all of the money in one cash drawer you would add up both reports and make sure the drawer matches. Since theres two reports and one drawer there would be some manual work.

Same situation.  We use two tablets and one physical cash drawer.  One tablet as the primary cash drawer and for the other tablet we start the drawer at $00.00. At the end of night we then have to add the cash sales/refubds from both.

@ZionGurur, I'm not sure what you're asking? Could you provide some more details?

I am getting ready to do a vendor show where we will only have a wifi hotspot from our phones or from the wifi supplied through the convention center.  Is it possible to still hook up two square stands to one printer and cash drawer?  If so what hardward would we need?  TIA

Hey @KS_EB!

Without direct access to the WiFi router, you would be limited to using a Bluetooth printer which only allows one device to be paired at a time. 😕

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.

We have multiple ipads working on just one cash drawer. How do we link them all together so that our cash will balance out at the end of the night?  Right now, we have to close each ipad separately, which is only a problem if there was cash taken by more than one device.  Then, the cash is off (unless you add them together).

Is there an easier way???

Cash management is meant for one iPad to one cash drawer. Adding the drawer totals is probably the only way to do it.

This has been posted before, but possibly there is now a solution.  I have two tablets, one for dine-in/take out, another for delivery.  I'd like both tablets to share the same cash drawer.  Suggestions/solutions?

I have one iPad on a stand with a chip reader connected to the network via wireless.  The receipt printer is hard-wired to the network and the cash drawer is connected to it.  My second iPad is connected to the same receipt printer and it will also operate the cash drawer.
