Can someone explain the timing of pickup orders?

I've been playing with pickup prep time settings in our online store. I thought setting for 1 day prep time might mean they would not be able to select pickup until 24 hours after accessing the checkout screen. I attempted this at 6AM (before the store is open) and the first option available is actually 3PM on the same day. This doesn't seem to be a one day prep time. Does one day really mean 8 hours?  What is the calculation here?

Actually, it seems like no matter what day I choose for pickup, it only gives me options from 3 to 5:30 - but the shop hours are like 10-6. I must be doing something wrong here. And tomorrow (sunday) has no time options to select from and the shop hours are 12-4.

Ok, turns out it was stuck on 5 hours and not 1 day as I thought. Now it seems better. I still wonder about what happens if a customer is ordering at 6am. I can see tomorrow I guess.
