Can I view customer contact info entered for a receipt?

Why am I unable to see email or text destination of receipt from a customer?

Solution

That is information that is not accessible as the vendor if the customer entered it for receiving a receipt, per the Square privacy policy.  You can access it if you enter it into customer directory, so add the customer info before closing the sale and you can build a database of customers.  See this article for more information https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5532-manage-your-customer-directory-from-the-square-app

I need help identifying the person who paid their bill on our square reader.  The entry was made manually.

@maryjane I merged your post here where another seller answered a similar question

If you manually entered their credit card information the payor's name can't be read from the card to be entered to your Customer Directory. Did you enter their information to the app before entering the sale? If you did you can search for their information from the Customers tab of the Point of Sale app, or the Customers section of your online Square Dashboard.

If you set square to collect payment for tickets to an event/workshop, and a client pays, I receive notification, but no way to identify who paid.

There must be some way to have Square provide an contact email or name of person purchasing.

Or a way for me to collect this information as a requirement of payment?

I'm puzzled why a name and contact information can be collected for an appointment,  but not for a workshop/class.

Is there any way to see or get information on a customer?

Hey @MudPeddler, are you using Square's Online Store to sell tickets to your events/workshops or another website provider?

This reply created from merging an existing thread: "identifying who paid me" The author has been notified via email.

I see payments on Square's site, but just numbers for the payment ID, how do I understand the name of the client who made the payment?

In order to reconcile my bank statement I need to know who the customer we are receiving payment from is.  Is there a report that provides that information and if not how do others reconcile their bank statements with sales.

Hello,

I have the same question.  I'm trying to reconcile with my accounting system.  I'm looking for starting balance, ending balance, an itemized list of transactions and fees that were charged by Square.  It looks like this thread was directed elsewhere, but I cannot see other thread.  Can you please help?  Thanks!

Hey @mst603 and @StephanieW,

Stepping in for @JustinC here.

It looks like this thread wasn't actually moved before so I went ahead and moved it to the existing thread he mentioned above! Sorry for the trouble.
