Can I use my square reader in Amsterdam?

I will be selling my art in Amsterdam next summer and I was wonderign how I can use my reader there?

I was in Portugal last year and it would not work.

no, you will not be able to.  Square contracts with the credit card processors are tied to the country of origin when creating the account, so a US account will not work outside the US etc.
