I have a cafe with two places sales are completed, counter and window, in close proximity to each other. I would like to have two POS but have them both work on only one cash register. Is this possible?
So I have two iPads with Square Point of Sale on them and one cash drawer and printer. (I use a ethernet printer so that both iPads can communicate with it. I don't use the Square Stand.). In one iPad I enter my starting cash say $100. In the other iPad I enter my starting cash as $0. At the end of the day I close both out and add them together to get the expected cash in the drawer. I alway enter the expected amount in iPad 2 and the difference in iPad 1 this way I have an accurate over and short.
It is possible to share a cash drawer but the cash management part gets a bit more complicated. I believe @RHatch had a way to do this, but I didn't find the post in the quick search I did. hopefully, he'll answer more fully. I believe you were setting the cash expected in the drawer to half the value on each iPad, but I don't know if there was more to it than that.

brilliant @RHatch! Thank you. This is very helpful and much appreciated. Can you also tell me the alternate equipment you found that works for you in this situation. You write that you don't use the stand for the second iPad, what do you use instead?
Kind regards,
Kate
I don't us the Square stand at all for either. I use a simple Heckler Stand, standard iPad and iPad Mini, Bluetooth reader, (each iPad must have its own), and Star TSP143LAN Printer with a chash drawer attached to the printer. I found a smaller drawer online because we take the whole thing in form our booth every night.
Can you have two Ipads connected to one drawer/printer with bluetooth? I don't have access to hardware to plug in ethernet (Modem to far away from walk up windows). Thanks
Hey @janednj-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
At this time, only one iPad/device can be connected to one cash drawer. However, multiple devices can be connected to one kitchen or receipt printer. Hope that helps!
***That would be for Ethernet, not Bluetooth. Devices can only connect to one other device at a time via Bluetooth.
