I am trying to find a way to store a discount for a customer without having to use Loyalty rewards. When I have a client who refers someone, I give them a discount for their future purchase. I am trying to figure out if this can be done without the Loyalty feature. I don't have nearly enough clients to make it worth spending $45 a month to store a $20 off coupon. If this can't be done, does anyone have any suggestions? I just don't want to forget about the referral bonus the next time I'm ringing the client up.
@Kmoss No need to sign up for Loyalty in order to create these discounts!
You'll want to create a discount and call it something along the lines of "Referral Discount".
When a client refers someone, you can go to that particular client's customer profile and create a note under the Notes section. You could have the note say "referral".
Then the next time that client comes in to make a purchase, you can look up their customer profile and see the "referral" note which lets you know that you need to apply a referral discount to their sale. You can then delete the note once the discount has been applied.
I know it seems like some extra steps, but it will help you to keep track of who gets a referral discount and who does not.
Let me know if you have questions on this method!
