Can I manually type a credit card in to receive payment?

 I have a customer who wants to pay by credit card but he is not here for me to slide his card he wants to do it over the phone can I manually type his card number to receive payment

Yes, 

add all the items customer is ordering and press charge, in pop up window in credit card field start typing cc number , exp month and year. CCV from back and zip code.  Skip the signature if customer is not present.

 

be aware the fee for typed CC is slightly bigger  the per swipe

@Lima has provided some great tips for manually entering a credit card. Although, we do recomend completing the signature screen; by writing the method you received the credit card information. In this situation signing the word, "phone" would suffice. 

 

Currently the fee for manually entering a credit card is 3.5% plus 15 cents. So it is a tad higher than processing a payment in person or sending a Square Invoice.
