The Square Reader requires access to your device’s headset jack to process credit cards. As a result, you cannot listen to music, take calls, record audio, or hear notifications while the Square Reader is inserted.
You can switch over to our new Square Contactless and Chip Card Reader, which connects to your device via Bluetooth rather than through the headset jack.
