I manage a gift shop in a hospital and do not like our cashiers to take customer credit card over the phone. I was thinking we could create an invoice, email it to the person calling, and they could put their credit card information in to activate the invoice. At that time, we would be notified and could fill the order. For those who have used invoice, would this work with Square Register POS?
Hello @mmcm - Good news! Square Invoices allows your customers to pay the invoice on their end once the invoice is sent via email. You can create Invoices from the Invoices app, or from your Square Register.

How is this purchase via invoice charged? Is it treated as a card not present? Or a different rate? Is there a per transaction charge?
Yes, it's treated as a card not present (% + transaction charge), so whatever rate you get for that.
@kathryncoughlin - The invoice is charged as soon as the customer submits their payment info from their end.
Fees for invoices are 2.9% + 30c.
